HANGZHOU, China — July 16, 2026 — Geely Galaxy, the new energy vehicle brand under Geely Auto Group, today officially launched the world's first "Thunder 16-in-1 Smart E-Drive" system. Developed by Geely's subsidiary Xingji Technology, the system integrates 16 core components including motor, electronic control, and reducer into a single unit — the highest level of integration among mass-produced e-drive systems currently available .
Technical Breakthroughs
The 16-in-1 system integrates power domain components, thermal management, and chassis domain functions, achieving cross-domain fusion. The number of integrated modules is 3.2 times that of mainstream 5-in-1 solutions.
Key performance metrics include:
-
Power output: 425kW on all-wheel-drive models (0-100 km/h in 3.8 seconds)
-
Efficiency: 93.8% combined efficiency, industry-leading among mass-produced counterparts
-
Weight: Only 75kg, 4kg lighter than comparable 12-in-1 systems
-
Power density: 11.8 kW/k
Ultra-Fast Charging & AI Integration
Paired with an 800V high-voltage platform and CATL's 6C battery, the system enables 400km range replenishment in just 11 minutes.
AI algorithms optimize energy consumption across various driving conditions, delivering class-leading efficiency of 12.8 kWh/100km for high-performance AWD models, a 17.4% improvement over the C-segment EV average.
First Application
The Thunder 16-in-1 Smart E-Drive will debut on the Geely Galaxy TT, a new AI-powered sport sedan targeting young consumers. The system has already set two Guinness World Records: lowest energy consumption around Qinghai Lake and longest continuous dual-car drift on wet surfaces.
