GRAZ, Austria — XPeng's flagship G9L SUV completed its first European trial production on October 7 at Magna's plant in Graz, Austria, marking the company's fourth model to be locally assembled in Europe. The vehicle subsequently made its global debut at the Paris Motor Show on October 12.
Localization Milestone
The G9L joins the G6, G9, and P7+ as XPeng models produced at Magna Steyr's Graz facility, where local production began in September 2025. The plant, operated by Magna's contract manufacturing subsidiary, benefits from over a century of vehicle production experience, including high-end luxury models. XPeng Chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng confirmed the milestone on social media, describing it as a further expansion of the company's European production lineup.

Real-World Validation Drive
Following trial production, the first European-spec G9L embarked on a 1,324-kilometer drive from Graz to Paris to validate its advanced driver-assistance systems, charging performance, and overall driving dynamics under real-world conditions ahead of its global premiere . The journey served as a practical demonstration of the vehicle's capabilities across European roads.

Global Ambitions
The G9L was launched in Europe at the Paris Motor Show with a starting price of €74,990 in France, €74,600 in Germany, and €74,990 in Belgium. The European version is offered exclusively as a battery electric vehicle in six- and seven-seat configurations, differing from the five-seat version sold in China. XPeng plans to bring the model to 64 countries and regions worldwide.
The G9L's European launch follows a three-year global validation program covering 26 countries and regions, approximately 6.74 million kilometers of road testing, and 192 crash tests. The vehicle was engineered to meet major five-star safety standards including Europe's Euro NCAP and Australia's ANCAP.
